Teddy ISBA Diary @ Homelands Trust

6/01/2015

Just back from an amazing break at the Homelands Trust! It’s amazing seeing all these wonderful locations in the run up to this years ISBA conference in Edinburgh which is being held from the 13th – 15th of September!

I had such a busy week! I hope you enjoy reading my diary; I even stuck in some pictures!

Monday

Monday arrived and it was time to go to Homelands! I arrived at 2pm and was greeted by a fantastic team who showed me around the lodge. I was amazed by all the equipment they had, from the overhead-tracking hoists to the large wet room everything was great. The Christmas decorations were great too!

Tuesday

On arrival I was told I was able to book a massage, I was surprised to find out that you could book this for any day as they have a fantastic pool of therapists who come in and provide guests with treatments, just what the doctor ordered! I had an Indian head massage and it was fantastic.

Wednesday

Wednesday was a busy day! In the morning I attended a seated exercise class in the Paxton Centre, it was great fun and I up quite the appetite! Luckily the Paxton Centre has a café open on Mondays and Wednesdays. I had a bowl of devious home made soup and then I couldn’t resist a slice (or two!) of the beautiful homemade cake.

Wednesday 2

Thursday

On Thursday I was pleased to discover that Homelands have a podiatrist who visits weekly! Martha was fantastic and I will definitely be back for another visit!

Friday

On Friday I visited Kelly, who is an excellent counsellor with Stop and Talk. It was great to have someone to talk to. I found out that Kelly is regularly at Homelands and is flexible with when she can come in and see people.

Saturday

On Saturday the sun was shining (unusual for January!) so I put on my wellies and went and explored! The area around Homelands is beautiful; I had a wonder along the beach and ended up in Lower Largo, even stopped for a little drink before returning back to my lodge!

Sunday

As it was the last day I had a wonderful lazy day around the lodge playing board games and watching films with my family, it was the perfect day to end the break away!

Monday

Check out day! Had the most brilliant time at Homelands. I will definitely be coming back, especially when I know I can get a short break for as little as £275!
